At the age of 69, seasoned Tamil actor Manobala passed away on May 3, 2023. At a private-owned hospital in Chennai, he was receiving treatment for liver problems.
Manobala, who has acted in more than 1,000 films, was a well-known face in Tamil cinema. He began his professional life as an assistant director before switching to acting. He had collaborated with several of the top performers in the business, including Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan, and Vijay, and was well recognised for his comedic parts.
The Tamil cinema industry has been shocked by Manobala’s passing. A lot of famous people paid respect to the actor on social media.
Manobala’s co-star in the films “Sivakasi” and “Mersal,” Thalapathy Vijay, paid his tributes by going to the actor’s home today.

In a statement, Vijay expressed his sadness at Manobala Sir’s passing. He was a great actor cum comediyan and a lovely person. I will always treasure the experiences I had while working with him. I send his family and friends my sincere sympathies.
On May 4, 2023, Manobala’s funeral was held in the Besant Nagar cremation in Chennai. His wife Usha and son Harish are still alive.
The demise of Manobala leaves the Tamil cinema industry with a severe loss. He was a renowned member of the fraternity and a gifted actor. Future generations will remember his contributions to Tamil cinema.
