Superstar Rajinikanth has lauded the latest Tamil film ‘Ayothi’, starring Sasikumar in the lead role. The film, directed by Manthira Moorthy, is based on a real-life incident that took place in Tamil Nadu.
Rajinikanth took to his Twitter account on Tuesday to share his views on the film. He wrote in Tamil, “Ayothi… A socially responsible film that reflects the reality of our society. Sasikumar scores a hit with a brilliant performance. Manthira Moorthy has made a commendable debut as a director. Congratulations to the entire team.”
‘Ayothi’ revolves around the caste-based violence that erupted in a village after a Dalit man married an upper-caste woman. The film showcases how Sasikumar, who plays a lawyer, fights for justice for the oppressed community.
The film has received positive reviews from critics and audiences alike for its hard-hitting portrayal of social issues. ‘Ayothi’ is produced by Sasikumar’s Company Productions and has music by Dhibu Ninan Thomas.
Rajinikanth, who recently celebrated his 73rd birthday, has been watching and appreciating several Tamil films. He had earlier praised Vetri Maaran’s ‘Viduthalai’, starring Soori and Vijay Sethupathi, and called it a masterpiece.
